State of Vape: Smarter Vaping On The Way?

The eJuices.co team hopes that your business is doing well. In a previous State of Vape blog, we discussed innovations in vaping that could be used in the current environment. However, we need to also remember that vapers are on a journey and their vaping experiences will be different from person to person. Thankfully, the PuffPacket may help vapers understand the data behind their vaping.

Data and Vaping: A Strong Combination

The eJuices.co team is very data-driven. Whether you’re talking to your account manager or sales representative or browsing the eJuices.co blog for the latest news in vaping, we take a look at the data and give you knowledge and insights on how to make your business succeed. But what if your customers themselves could see the data in real-time?

We previously published an article on nicotine usage that demonstrated that our retail customers had successfully reduced their nicotine use over time. The PuffPacket claims to be able to tell how people are using e-cigarettes, particularly to understand teen vaping. However, we believe that it can be used to target adult vapers. Alexander Adams, one of the authors of the paper proposing the PuffPacket, said, “There’s been a jump in the prevalence of e-cigarette use, especially in recent years, but we don’t really understand how people are using it,” he said. “We wanted to figure out a way to map how people use e-cigarettes to determine what the triggers are. The lack of continuous and objective understanding of vaping behaviors led us to develop PuffPacket.”

What Could Be Tracked?

Some data that the creators tracked were the location, time, and activities such as driving, walking, and standing while vaping. The device is intended to be attached to e-cigarettes and smartphones, which may be an improvement over previous methods to gather vaping data. Where we could find the biggest innovation, however, is with nicotine use. We already know that many retail customers have reduced their nicotine use over time. Much like we can already track weight loss and steps one takes with smart devices, we may also see data collection translate well to vaping with this device and other similar devices.

For example, if a vaper starts with nicotine salts at 35mg of nicotine and eventually transitions to other eJuices at a lower nicotine strength, it may indicate that the user is relying less and less on nicotine. We could see how long it takes for the vaper to transition to lower nicotine strengths, and how frequently one is vaping as time goes on. While other aspects of the vaping experience are measured by the PuffPacket, we see great potential in reducing nicotine use as evidence that vaping is a viable alternative to traditional nicotine products.

This data can be used in studies similar to our own to prove the safety and efficacy of vaping. The eJuices.co team would most likely embrace such a development and vape shops can use this to help new vapers understand their vaping journey and experiences through the use of data. In addition, finding those vaping triggers may prompt shop owners to provide an environment where one may be encouraged to vape after buying a product. This may also prove to be effective for online vape shops who can design their website to also provide an environment where one may be encouraged to vape as well. The possibilities are endless and we would like to see where the PuffPacket takes vaping in the future.

Like all things, the state of vape is subject to change. That’s why the eJuices.co team is here to help you and your business succeed. If you have any questions or concerns, you can always contact your eJuices.co account manager or sales representative. We are looking forward to speaking with you.
